Our story

Let's face it - South Asian events aren't short of magic. There's boundless emotions, gorgeous outfits, tasty food and not to mention the decor and accessories... South Asians are all about family and our cultural events play such a big part in our lives. It wasn't until my sister's wedding that I actually felt how significant these events are in one's life. For those of us who live far from the land of our ancestors - it can be difficult to find what we're looking for. I remember my sister and mom booking a flight especially for her wedding shopping and thinking how crazy expensive it is just to buy items in person or find those unique pieces here in North America. It really shouldn't be that hard right? So I had that lightening bolt moment and thought about why it wasn't accessible to those of us living abroad... and that's how Gulabo was born. 

I wanted to create pieces that were unique and one of a kind. So naturally I was drawn to the world of Indian textiles and went on to create handcrafted accessories that are commonly found at all of our big life events - be it your wedding, rokha, godh barai (baby shower) or engagement - you'll find it here.
